Rules In Relationships

Rules in Relationships

A teen’s first love is an exciting milestone. Unless it goes terribly wrong.  Originally designed to instruct adolescent males charged with relationship abuse, Rules in Relationships can be adapted to help all youth audiences develop healthy, egalitarian gender relationships.  The course aims to reduce teen relationship violence while building strong foundations for adult gender relationships. Ken’s hands-on, practical approach trains adult professionals to facilitate the program directly with youth. Facilitator training is one day, 5-6 hours.  Typical youth programs run 90 minutes per week for 8 weeks or can be adapted to 2.5 hours per week for 4 weeks. (This is not a train-the-trainer model of instruction. Ken asks that all youth programs are led by a facilitator trained directly by him.)

Youth Modules, 60-90 minutes each:

1:  Myths of Masculinity

2:  Attitudes toward Women

3:  Love Means Respect

4:  Equality and Gender

5:  Space (Leave the trigger)

6:  Time Out (Think and calm down)

7:  Ownership (Own the behavior and effects)

8:  Pledge (Pledge to new behavior)
